Saturday Morning Happiness

Wake up Texas!!! It's GAME DAY!! The Horns have traveled north and will be taking on Kansas today. Shouldn't be a difficult game but one never knows. It's November and it's football. Game starts just before noon. Hot dogs on the grill,,,stuffed chicken on the grill later. A run to KupCakery for Longhorn cupcakes,,they have little chocolate Longhorns on them! Dash to the grocery store. Light the fire in the outdoor fireplace,,yes it finally FINALLY got semi-cold here. Ice down the beer. Make the salsa. It's Saturday and there is football and no work and,,,yes,,,I'm a happy girl.

Only one call from the alarm company during the night. It's getting better. I probably jinxed it by stating that but truly it couldn't have gotten worse. Fire alarm panel at work is not communicating with the phone lines at work and for some reason they think I can interpret for the two devices. Last weekend my phone rang every hour on the hour from Friday at 6pm until Monday morning at 9am. I talked more with David at the alarm company than I did with either of my children, my boyfriend or my parents. I suffered a brief moment of separation anxiety Monday when the calls stopped. Pathetic.

The Boys are worshipping at the altar of the portable heater this morning. I've moved their bed near it and they are warm and toasty and incapable of movement. Paralyzed with happiness and warmth. Later in the evening when I light the fireplace they will relocate and continue their heat worship downstairs.

The house is still under deconstruction. I've turned the whole mess over to my Daddy because apparently you must have a penis to deal with contractors and such. I could not get anyone to call me back. He's not having a much easier time of it. There is no carpet upstairs,,,still. My bathroom is not functional,,still. The painting is half complete,,,still. I'm almost at the point of just bashing it all out and doing it myself,,well not really,,but almost.

I must get functional today. Longhorn cookies to make. Lunch to prepare. Dinner prep to get underway. It's GAME DAY!!!
