Update from the Third Coast
If I could run to the top of a mountain and yell this update out for the world to hear I would. Picture it in all CAPS. Hear it at the very loudest volume you can imagine me generating. Throw confetti and rose petals. Maggie had her follow up appointment today. She is " all clear". It's a temporary all clear,,we have two more check ups to wait through. BUT,,today,,,she is perfect. There is nothing there that isn't supposed to be there. Perfect. Maggie.
Mallory. She's always been perfect. She will always be perfect. Even in her imperfections she is perfect. She's doing marvelously perfectly wonderfully well in DC. She was home for Christmas and gifted me with the ,,of course,,perfect present. If you haven't already found The Girls Next Door,,do so. They are my estrogen fix when my own girls away and just delightful entertainment. My surrogate daughters. They wear,, occasionally,,the cutest little pjs ever. White long johns with little black playboy bunny heads on them. Oh so soft with a drop seat. The most magnificent pjs ever created,,and Mallory got me a pair. I don't want to ever take them off,,work would frown on my wearing them I'm sure so I do exchange them for scrubs when necessary,,but not willingly. I love them. Mallory will be home ,,well sort of home,,,she'll be in San Antonio in February for a conference. I might wear my pjs to see her!!
Maggie introduced a new member to the family. His name is The Professor and he is adorable. I tried hard not to like him but how can you resist a tiny black Professor wearing a diamond collar and a fur sweater that sits in your hand? It's impossible. A mini-dachsund. Cutest thing ever.
Pirate is home. Need I say more?
I think for now,,that's all the update the brain can manage. I've worked 9 out of the last 11 days. I'm tired. There needs to be a better word for what I am. Tired doesn't capture the full extent of it. It will have to suffice for now.
Come see us,,
